Versatile Deportivo Saprissa forward, Gomez will be hoping to repeat his impressive performances of four years ago in Germany. Gomez scored twice in Japan and Korea, netting against China and Brazil in the group stages. Also scored the goal that secured third place for his current club in last year's World Club Championships. Made his international debut as a teenager way back in 1993 against Nicaragua and has racked up nearly 80 caps to date. Has played club football in Guatemala, Spain and Greece.
