Along with Marko Babic on the left, Srna fills the wide berths in the five-man midfield formation preferred by coach Zlatko Kranjcar. A pacy, right-sided player, Srna can also fill in as an orthodox full-back if needed. Made his international debut just after the last World Cup finals in Japan and Korea and has quickly become a regular for Croatia, having a good eye for goal to add to his attributes. Plays his club football in Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk, but has been linked with Juventus and Liverpool in the past and could secure a move west if he impresses in Germany.
