Leko made his international debut way back in June 1999 against Egypt, but he has been unable to nail down a regular starting spot in the seven years since. Left-sided, he can play either in defence or midfield and can fit in in a more central role if necessary. Started his club career with Hajduk Split and spent time in Spain with Malaga, before moving to Belgium a year ago to join Club Brugge, where he quickly settled in as a first-team regular alongside Bosko Balaban.
