The Hajduk Split custodian had been expected to be his country's first choice in Germany, but lost his place during qualifying to Tomislav Butina and may now have to settle for a place on the bench. The 27-year-old has nearly 50 caps to his name and recently returned to his homeland after a three-year stint in Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk. Made his international debut in February 1999 against Denmark and is hoping to return to the form that made him one of Europe's hottest properties a couple of years ago.
