One of the few men to break into the Czech Republic squad since Euro 2004, David Jarolim will provide cover for the central and right midfield positions in Germany. The 27-year-old won only one senior cap - as a late substitute in the 2-0 qualifying defeat against the Netherlands in October 2005 - before the squad was announced, but has impressed coach Karel Bruckner with his displays in the Bundesliga. Jarolim has played his club football in Germany since joining Bayern Munich from Slavia Prague in 1997. He failed to make an impact at Bayern and moved to Nurnberg in 2000 and then on to Hamburg three years later.
