An imposing centre-back, David Rozehnal established himself as a key member of Karel Bruckner's starting line-up during the World Cup qualifying campaign. He made his international debut in a 2-2 friendly draw against Italy in February 2004 and was part of the Czech Republic squad that reached the semi-finals of the European Championships later that year, although he started just one game in Portugal. He finally managed to oust Rene Bolf from the team late last year and is now regarded as first-choice partner for Tomas Ujfalusi in central defence. Rozehnal began his club career with Sigma Olomouc before joining Club Brugge in 2003. His consistent displays in the Jupiler League earned him a move to French giants Paris St-Germain in 2005.
