News that Jan Koller had recovered from the serious knee ligament injury that sidelined him for most of the 2005-06 season was a huge relief for Karel Bruckner. The giant striker is the Czech Republic's all-time leading goalscorer having netted 40 international goals, including nine in eight games in the World Cup qualifiers. Among the best targetmen around, he has developed into one of the world's most dangerous strike partnerships with the pacy Milan Baros over the past four years. The 33-year-old has also experienced great success at club level, with spells at Sparta Prague, Lokeren, Anderlecht and Borussia Dortmund producing a Gambrinus Liga, two Jupiler League and a Bundesliga winners' medals.
