A frustratingly inconsistent striker at club level, Milan Baros has an outstanding goalscoring record for the Czech Republic. He marked his senior international debut with a goal in a 1-1 friendly draw against Belgium in April 2001 and has been a regular ever since. The high point of his career was Euro 2004, where he won the Golden Boot after netting five times as the Czechs reached the semi-finals. His exploits were a surprise to Liverpool fans, as he managed only 19 Premiership goals in a three-and-a-half-year spell at Anfield following his £3.6million move from Banik Ostrava. Despite being a member of the Reds' 2005 Champions League winning side he was sold to Aston Villa for £6.5million last summer and has continued to disappoint at Villa Park.
