One of the newer members of Karel Bruckner's squad, Radoslav Kovac will have to rely on injuries if he is to get an opportunity to show what he can do at Germany 2006. After being a member of the Czech Republic side that failed to win a game at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, the 26-year-old had to wait four years for his senior international debut as a last-minute substitute in the vital World Cup qualifying victory against Romania. His subsequent appearances during the qualifiers were all as a substitute, but he has top-level club experience having played in the UEFA Cup for Sigma Olomouc and in the Champions League for Sparta Prague, before joining Spartak Moscow in a four million euros deal in March 2005.
