A versatile defender, Tomas Ujfalusi is one of the first names on Karel Bruckner's team sheet. He has hardly missed a game for the national team since making his debut in a 1-1 friendly draw against FYR Macedonia in February 2001 and played every minute of the Czech Republic's 14 qualifiers for Germany 2006. The 28-year-old made his name with Sigma Olomouc in his homeland before joining German side Hamburg in 2000. A move to Fiorentina followed in 2004 and he has since established a reputation as one of the best defenders in Serie A, despite often being employed at right-back rather than in his preferred central role.
