A physically imposing centre forward, Vratislav Lokvenc will provide cover for strike giant Jan Koller at the World Cup finals. The 32-year-old made his international debut in a 2-0 victory against Norway in 1995 and was a member of the Czech Republic squad for both Euro 2000 and Euro 2004. He has produced some of his best displays for his country in recent years and netted five times in seven appearances during the qualifiers for Germany 2006. Lokvenc experienced great success in club football in his homeland and picked up five Gambrinus Liga title winners' medals with Sparta Prague before joining German side Kaiserslautern in 2000. He was a regular goalscorer during four seasons at the Fritz Walter Stadion before moving on to Nurnberg in 2004 and Austrian Bundesliga club Red Bull Salzburg the following year.
