Short in stature, Lara makes up for that with skill and tenacity in midfield, even if he is likely to spend much of the summer warming the substitutes bench. Nicknamed the Little Devil, Lara will be keen to make his mark after just missing out four years ago. Made his international debut in January 2002 against Guatemala before being overlooked for Japan and South Korea, but he has remained in the national team set-up ever since. Has only played professional football for one club, El Nacional, where he has been since the age of 12.
