Has been with Deportivo Quito for well over a decade and goes by the unenviable nickname of The Infallible. Made his international debut in October 1998 against Brazil and has gone on to win more than 70 caps for his country. Can also be utilised in a more central role and was a regular throughout an exhaustive qualifying campaign for Germany.
