The Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper has cemented his place as England's number one shot-stopper with a string of impressive and solid displays for his country. The former Leeds United star made his England debut as a second-half substitute against Australia in February 2003 and soon took over from David James as Sven-Goran Eriksson's first-choice keeper. The 26-year-old has taken his game to a new level at White Hart Lane to become one of the top goalkeepers in the Premiership. He conceded only three goals in the nine World Cup qualifiers he started in.
