The 31-year-old Arsenal star has endured a poor 2005-06 season but is still likely to have a role to play in Germany after being named in five successive major international tournament squads. He has struggled with calf and ankle injuries recently and left Highbury at half-time after being substituted in the home defeat to West Ham United at the beginning of February. Campbell made his international debut a decade ago but was left out of England's final World Cup qualifier against Poland and the friendly victory against Argentina. The former Tottenham star was named in the Euro 2004 All-Star squad by the UEFA technical group.
