The Manchester United striker's form in the second half of the season catapulted him into Raymond Domenech's plans. The former Fulham star was controversially used by United boss Sir Alex Ferguson at the end of February in the Carling Cup Final against Wigan Athletic instead of Ruud van Nistelrooy and went on to keep his place in the last three months of the season. Saha scored 15 goals for United in the 2005-06 campaign as he finally shook off the niggling injury problems that had dominated his initial two years with the club since his £12.8million switch from Fulham. Scored 53 goals in 100 starts for the Cottagers but has still to prove himself as a regular scorer at international level.
