Vieira has been a mainstay of the France side since making his international debut more than nine years ago against Holland. He came on as a substitute when France beat Brazil in the 1998 World Cup Final but was a key member of the team when they won Euro 2000. The Senegal-born midfielder played for Cannes and AC Milan before making his name during an outstanding nine-year spell at Arsenal. He left Highbury for Juventus last summer in a £13.7million deal but has struggled to find his best form with the Turin giants.
