One of the most exciting young players in Ghana's squad, Asamoah Gyan will be hoping to make a name for himself in Germany. He marked his Black Stars debut in November 2003 with a goal against Somalia and went on to score four times in seven matches during the World Cup qualifying campaign. The 20-year-old's club career has been less successful and he failed to make an impact with Serie A side Udinese after leaving Liberty Professionals in 2003. A transfer to Modena followed in 2004 and he has been able to use his pace and aerial prowess to greater effect in Serie B.
