Defensive midfielder Hans Sarpei was a surprise name in Ratomir Dujkovic's squad for Germany 2006. He has struggled to make an impact at international level and featured just once during the World Cup qualifiers and saw only 16 minutes of action during the Black Stars' disastrous African Cup of Nations campaign earlier in the year. Sarpei, who can also operate at full-back, has spent his entire career in Germany and had spells with MSV Duisburg, Fortuna Koln, Winfriedia Mulheim, Viktoria Koln and SV Chorweiler before joining Wolfsburg in 2001.
