Issah Ahmed will head to the World Cup finals determined to make up for his poor showing at the African Cup of Nations earlier in the year. The pacy centre-back scored an own goal and was at fault for the other as the Black Stars lost their final group game to Zimbabwe 2-1 to ensure they did not make the knockout stages. His poor form was a surprise to Ghanaian football fans who had seen him develop into a capable and composed defender during spells with Dawu Youngsters, Accra Great Olympics and Asante Kotoko. He joined Danish second division side Randers in January 2006 and helped them to win the Danish Cup for the first time since 1973.
