Matthew Amoah is likely to lead the Black Stars' forward line in Germany after establishing a reputation as a lethal finisher. The 25-year-old joined Vitesse Arnhem straight from school and, although he initially struggled to make an impact in the Netherlands, he rose to prominence by scoring 10 times in 15 games during a loan spell at Fortuna Sittard. He returned to Vitesse at the start of the 2000-01 season and remained a first-team regular and consistent goalscorer for the next five-and-a-half years. The pacy striker, who scored three times in five appearances during the World Cup qualifiers, joined Borussia Dortmund in a 400,000 euros deal in January 2006 but has not yet had a chance to impress in the Bundesliga.
