Attacking right-back Kromkamp will be hoping to put a disappointing season behind him by finding his best form at Germany 2006. The 25-year-old ended a successful five-year spell with the rising force in Dutch football, AZ Alkmaar, in the summer of 2005 to try his luck in Spain with Villarreal. The language barrier and a loss of form prevented him making an impact at El Madrigal and he moved to Liverpool in a swap deal for Josemi in January 2006. He also struggled to make his mark at Anfield and started just six Premiership games for the Reds, but Marco van Basten has opted to keep faith with a player he handed a first cap to in August 2004.
