Exciting striker who burst on to the international stage during Iran's successful Asian Games campaign in Busan in 2002. Despite often playing second fiddle to the likes of Ali Daei, he remains a potent attacking option for coach Branko Ivankovic and seldom disappoints when called off the bench. At last year's West Asian Games in Doha the 22-year-old was given his chance to impress as a starter and duly delivered by finishing the tournament with the golden boot award. At club level Borhani caught the eye as Pas won the league title in 2004 and was a regular in the side that reached the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League the following year.
