Iran's first-choice keeper who played a starring role during the qualification campaign for Germany. The 27-year-old was handed the number one jersey by former coach Miroslav Blazevic in a controversial move ahead of the last World Cup, but after a nervous start the Croatian coach was fully vindicated in his decision. Since then the towering keeper has gone on to become one of his country's most consistent performers and was a vital part of Iran's four-match winning run which eventually saw them progress from their group to reach this summer's World Cup finals. A powerful and solid goalkeeper, it is perhaps something of a surprise that Mirzapour still remains in Iranian club football.
