One of the world's most deadly penalty area predators, Filippo Inzagi has finally put his ankle problems behind him to force his way back into the international reckoning. The 32-year-old was a member of the Azzurri squads for the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, as well as Euro 2000, but he looked set to miss out on Germany 2006 after injuries kept him out of the national team for two-and-a-half years. However, a series of crucial goals for Milan in the Champions League persuaded Marcello Lippi that Inzaghi was still capable of performing at the highest level. Inzaghi's impressive recent form should not have come as a surprise, as he has scored goals consistently throughout a career that has also seen him play for Piacenza, Leffe, Verona, Parma, Atalanta and Juventus.
