Lazio right-back Massimo Oddo will be hoping to finally make an impact for Italy at Germany 2006. He has struggled to hold down a regular place in the national team since making his debut in 2002 and, although he went to Euro 2004, Oddo saw just 22 minutes of action during the Azzurri's disastrous showing in Portugal. The former AC Milan trainee was also used sparingly during the World Cup qualifiers, but his consistent displays for Lazio, who he joined from Verona in 2002, were enough to persuade coach Marcello Lippi to take him to the finals.
