A key figure during World Cup qualifying, Aruna Dindane faces a battle to regain his place as Didier Drogba's strike partner. A family tragedy meant he was unable to play at the 2006 African Cup of Nations, where his replacement Arouna Kone was one of the stars of the Elephants' run to the final. However, there is a good chance coach Henri Michel will opt to go with Dindane's greater experience and more consistent goalscoring. The 25-year-old made his name during a five-year spell with Anderlecht, where he won two Jupiler League title winner's medals and was voted the best player in Belgian club football in 2004. The striker made a £2million move to Lens in 2005 but found goals hard to come by in his first season in France.
