A pacy attacking right-back, Emmanuel Eboue is one of the rising stars of English club football. He took advantage of an injury to Lauren to establish himself as a regular in the Arsenal team in the second half of the 2005-06 season and played a key role in the Gunners reaching the Champions League final and securing fourth place in the Premiership. Like many of his international team-mates he started his career at ASEC Abidjan's famous youth academy, before using Belgian side Beveren as a springboard to secure a move to Arsenal in January 2005. Eboue broke into the national team during World Cup qualifying and established himself as a regular as the Elephants finished as runners-up at the 2006 African Cup of Nations.
