A solid all-round performer, Inamoto can play anywhere across the midfield, either in a defensive of more attacking role. He started his career with Gamba Osaka before moving to England to join Arsenal, but failed to make the grade at Highbury. However, that didn't stop him from starring in the last finals in his homeland, scoring two goals in Japan's four games. Those performances brought him to the attention of Fulham, but after two patchy seasons with the Cottagers he moved back to Gamba after a serious injury. He was soon back in England with West Brom and finally looks to have settled down and found the form that has seen him win more than 60 caps since his debut against Mexico in 2000.
