Narazaki was first choice for a time as Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi lost form, but has now lost his place to the Jubilo Iwata custodian. He started every game in the last World Cup on home soil and has won around 50 caps for Japan since making his debut against Australia in 1998. Plays his club football for Nagoya Grampus Eight, having started out with Yokohama F Marinos. Seems likely to have to settle for a supporting role in Germany, but is a valuable squad member with vast experience on the international stage.
