A left-sided defender who has emerged on the international stage during the past 12 months. The 26-year-old only made his debut in 2004 but played every minute as Mexico finished fourth at last year's Confederations Cup in Germany. A solid presence at left-back, Salcido's aggressive style of play and explosive speed sees him regularly supporting the attacking play both for Mexico and club side Guadalajara. Salcido is developing into a versatile member of the national squad and shows great vision especially when picking out team-mates in the final third.
