Argentina-born striker who qualifies for Mexican nationality through his residence in the country. It has been an exciting six months for the 29-year-old who sealed a £1million move to Spanish side Villarreal in the January transfer window. A relatively late developer, Franco began his career at San Lorenzo in Argentina where he worked with current Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini. Found his feet as a goalscorer following his move to Monterrey in 2002, scoring 57 times in 113 appearances for the Mexican club. The versatile attacker also scored on his international debut in a World Cup qualifier against Guatemala in October 2005.
