Diminutive midfielder who has made more than 30 appearances for Mexico after making his debut as a teenager in 1998. The 25-year-old is a set-piece specialist in the mould of idol Alessandro del Piero of Italy. Made his league debut with Necaxa in 1999 and rates the third-placed finish of the unfancied Mexican side in the 2000 FIFA World Club Championship as one of his greatest achievements. Moved on to current side Monterrey in 2003 and has forged a reputation for being a skilful attacking midfielder. Despite his vast experience this will be a first appearance in a World Cup finals for Perez.
