The 28-year-old midfielder returned to Paraguay in 2002 after a three-year spell with Argentinian side Atletico de Rafaela. He has spent the last four years with Libertad after starting his playing career in his homeland with Sol de America. Bonet made his international debut in the Loftus Road friendly against Nigeria in March 2002 and was a surprise inclusion in the Paraguay squad that competed in the World Cup finals four years ago in South Korea and Japan. He made one appearance in the tournament as Paraguay lost to Germany in the second round.
