Cuevas enjoyed a successful World Cup four years ago and netted twice in the 3-1 win against Slovenia that sealed his country's place in the last 16 of the competition. He signed for River Plate in 1999 but struggled to break in to the Argentinian giants' first-team. He played for a year in China but is currently with Mexican side Pachuca. The 25-year-old has struggled to find the net at regular intervals at international level however.
