The 26-year-old played for Italian sides Venezia and Perugia earlier in his career but has been with Mexican side Toluca for the last three years. He joined Toluca from Paraguayan team Club Libertad and has been a regular in the Mexican side's defence ever since. Da Silva also enjoyed a brief spell in Argentina with Lanus and has emerged as a key part of the Paraguay squad in the last few years.
