The striker current plies his trade with Mexican side Jaguares after making his name in Chile with Audax Italiano. The 25-year-old is a regular scorer at club level but has found goals harder to come by at international level. He has netted 59 times in just over 100 appearances for Jaguares and made his international debut in June 2004 against Bolivia. Cabanas was a member of the Paraguayan team that took part in the World Youth Championships in 1999.
