A surprise pick by coach Pawel Janas, with Jop having featured only once for Poland during qualification and enduring a torrid time in a 2-1 defeat away to England. A tough centre-back, Jop is one of two members of the Polish squad who play in the Russian league with FC Moscow, the other being Damian Gorawski. He previously played for Widzew Lodz and Wisla Krakow, before heading East in the summer of 2004. Likely to be a back-up player in Germany.
