Lewandowski can operate either in defence or as a defensive midfielder and his versatility has clearly worked in his favour to ensure his selection for the 23-man party. He plays his club football in Ukraine where he has helped Shakhtar Donetsk to two league titles and two cup victories since joining the club from Groclin five years ago. Something of a free-kick expert, Lewandowski has failed to become a regular for Poland and may well have to settle for a bit-part role this summer as he looks to add to his tally of just over 20 caps.
