Gancarczyk plays his club football in Ukraine for Metalist Kharkov, having joined them from Arsenal Kyiv in the January transfer window. He was only called up into the national team in May for a friendly international against Lithuania, but did enough to earn a place on the plane for Germany. The 24-year-old looks unlikely to be a starter in the summer, but given coach Pawel Janas' disappointment at his side's recent performances, Gancarczyk will be keen to impress in training.
