Skilful attacking midfielder who goes by the nickname 'Baby Maradona'. Al Shlhoub announced his arrival on the international scene with a brilliant hat-trick against Uzbekistan at the 2000 Asian Cup while still a teenager and he has gone on to cement his place on the left side of midfield. Like all enigmatic players, the slight attacking midfielder is prone to frustrating off days but when he is on his game Al Shlhoub is one of the most effective players in Asian football. Like a number of his team-mates he struggled to make an impact at the last World Cup finals in Japan and South Korea and has a point to prove.
