Uncompromising defender who has something of a point to prove in the World Cup spotlight. Now in his 30s, Tukar was a fairly late arrival on the international stage and was deemed as one of those most culpable as Saudi Arabia were hammered 8-0 by Germany during an unhappy 2002 World Cup. Since then Tukar has seen his fortunes improve. He is first-choice for club side Al Ittihad but remains on the fringes of the international starting line-up. Formerly regarded as one of the best defensive players of his generation, Tukar has a reputation for tough tackling and a strong aerial presence.
