Nenad Djordjevic is reputed to be one of the best centre-backs in Serbo-Montenegrin football, but has struggled to make an impact for the national team. He rose to prominence with FK Obilic, where his displays prompted Belgrade giants Partizan and Crvena Zvezda to chase his signature in 2003. The 26-year-old eventually opted for Partizan, where he picked up a title winner's medal in the 2004-05 season. He made his international debut in a 4-1 friendly win against Lithuania in April 2002 and has remained a regular in the squad ever since. However, he has been unable to break up the central defensive partnership of Nemanja Vidic and Mladen Krstajic, and rarely features in competitive games.
