Very much number two goalkeeper behind Dragoslav Jevric, Oliver Kovacevic has found his opportunities for the national team limited and is likely to spend most of Germany 2006 watching from the bench. The 31-year-old had spells with Milicionar and Zeleznik in his homeland before joining CSKA Sofia in January 2006. He suffered a scare during the warm-up for the Bulgarian Premier League match against Cherno on May 5 when he was carried off after sustaining a knee injury, but is expected to be fit to take up his place in the Serbia & Montenegro squad for the World Cup.
