One of South Korea's promising youngsters, Kim made his name at the 2004 Olympics in Greece and has gone on to establish himself in the senior side in the last two years. The 23-year-old midfielder made seven appearances in the World Cup qualifiers, scoring two goals, and could have an integral part to play in Germany. He has already played in more than 30 games for his country despite his tender age and is likely to seal a move from his current club, Seongnam Ilhwa, if he impresses against Togo, France and Switzerand.
