Ahn is currently playing for MSV Duisburg in Germany after enduring a nomadic career since the last World Cup. In 2002 he was already playing in Italy for Perugia but was sold after scoring the golden goal that knocked the Italians out of the competition. Club president Luciano Gaucci had said he would not pay the salary of someone who had 'ruined' Italian football. He moved to Japanese side Shimizu S-Pulse before returning to Europe with French outfit Metz last summer. He signed for Duisburg in January. The 30-year-old can play in midfield or attack and has made more than 50 appearances for his country.
