The Gwangju Sangmu striker was a member of South Korea's 2004 Olympic football team that was eventually beaten by runners-up Paraguay. He has been a regular member of Dick Advocaat's squad but spends a lot of time on the substitutes bench, a role he may have to get used to in Germany. Chung scored one goal in seven matches during South Korea's qualifying campaign.
