A classic right winger renowned for his turn of pace and pin-point crossing from wide zones. The 24-year-old was a member national squad at the 2002 World Cup and missed the crucial penalty which saw them fall at the quarter-final stage to co-hosts South Korea. On the club stage Joaquin played a key role in unfancied Betis' qualification for the Champions League this season and his impressive displays both domestically and in Europe have led to rumours of a move to the Premiership with Liverpool and Chelsea believed to be at the head of the queue. The only black mark on his cv appears to be a lack of goals for such an attacking-minded player.
