The Arsenal star has won more than 50 caps for his country since making his international debut against the USA in January 1998. He missed the World Cup in South Korea and Japan four years ago with a hip injury but starred at both Euro 2000 and the Portugal tournament four years later. Ljungberg joined his hometown club Halmstads BK 12 years ago and his impressive performances earned him a transfer to Arsenal in 1998. He played a key role in the Gunners' double success in 2001-02 and the unbeaten Premiership winning campaign of 2003-04. Injuries have hampered his progress in the last two seasons but he has made more than 300 appearances for Arsene Wenger's side.
