The 34-year-old Barcelona striker announced his international retirement in 2003 but reversed his decision one year later and is once again expected to have a key role to play in Germany after enjoying an impressive campaign in Spain. Larsson started his club career with Hogaborg and played for Helsingborgs and Feyenoord before sealing a £650,000 transfer to Celtic in July 1997. He went on to score an amazing 242 goals in 315 matches despite breaking his leg in two places which kept him on the sidelines for a year. He was a member of the Sweden squad which finished third at the 1994 World Cup and has also appeared at the 2002 World Cup and Euro 2000 and 2004. He was transferred to Barcelona in 2004 but has agreed a return to Helsingborgs for the 2006-07 campaign.
